Have your say on vulnerable children

Message from Ministry of Social Development

We’ve made it easy for New Zealanders to share their ideas on the Green Paper for Vulnerable Children.

Now is your opportunity to contribute and let the Government know what you think should happen.  Resources including a freepost form are available at http://www.childrensactionplan.govt.nz/home/resources.

The Green Paper was launched by the Government in July, and sets out some ideas on how to improve the lives of vulnerable children.

We need lots of feedback on this issue - making changes will involve some tough decisions.  You can help by:

  • putting a link to the Green Paper on your service website

  • including information in your newsletters/emails

  • display posters where parents gather.

Posters and fact sheets are available.  You can order printed copies by emailing admin [at] childrensactionplan [dot] govt [dot] nz (admin [at] childrensactionplan [dot] govt [dot] nz).

Please think about how you can use these resources and get management boards, teachers, parents and others to have their say.  Spread the message to other groups in your community that you know and work with – marae, church groups, sports clubs and other local meeting places.

All New Zealanders are urged to have their say by making a submission before 28 February 2012.
